Local Attractions
Nathan’s Place is only a short distance from award winning wineries and cellar doors, most of whom also serve great food. Pizzini, Dal Zotto and Gracebrook to name a few. For a meal closer to home, the Mountain View Hotel (restuarant and pub), Hobbledehoy Cafe & Distillery, and Whitfield General Store are a leisurely stroll away.
Throughout the year, the King Valley showcases it’s food and wine produce through a range of festivals and events. Here are a few of the favourites:

If nature’s more your thing or you just need to dry out from the grapes for a bit, the King Valley’s natural attractions are all close by to Nathan’s Place. Power’s Lookout, Paradise Falls, and William Hovell Dam are all easily accessible and worth a look.
There are also a variety of tours and places of interest for day visitors as well as those staying longer. Bushwalking, 4WD touring and camping are all popular pastimes whilst Whitfield’s proximity to the surrounding ski fields and Winton Raceyway makes for exciting day trips. For the historians and driving enthusiasts, the Ned Kelly driving tour also calls through Whitfield.

Cancellation and Booking Policy
- Cancellation prior to 30 days will incur one (1) night’s accommodation
- Cancellation within 30 days of booking will incur full cost of booking

Getting to Whitfield
Whitfield is a three hour drive from Melbourne. Heading north on the Hume Freeway, take the Snow Road Exit (C522) and turn right towards Miliwa. A further 9km’s along, turn right onto the Wangaratta-Whitfield Road (C521). From there Whitfield is 40km passing through Moyhu and Edi.
Local Directions
There’s a reason for the 60km speed limit in Whitfield. If you don’t slow down and blink, you’re going to miss the town.
Travelling from Wangaratta
Whitfield is a 50k, half-hour drive from Wangaratta through some beautiful countryside. Once you enter Whitfield’s 60km zone, travel along the main street and turn right onto the Mansfield-Whitfield Road, just before the Mountain View Hotel. The house is a further 300m up the hill to the right, on the corner to the Recreation Ground.
Travelling from Mansfield
Once you enter the 60km zone in Whitfield, travel another 300m and the house is on the left, on the corner to the Recreation Ground. Keep an eye out for the blue Recreation Reserve sign. Nathan’s Place is across the street on the corner.
